Woman Sought in Elder Neglect Case

Police are currently looking for a woman who they believe has committed elderly neglect. The woman is facing seven felony charges for her lack of care and economic exploitation of the man. According to investigators, the man lived at a nursing home where the woman worked. The man’s family then consented to moving him from the nursing home to the worker’s home and was placed in her care. The nursing home employee became the representative for the man, and collected his month Social Security Check. Last year, the police received a call that the neglected elderly man had been left alone. At the home, police found the man by himself inside the dirty house with no electricity and dog feces on the floor. Later, the man was admitted to the hospital for bedsores. The man was removed from the woman’s care after they found him on a hospital bed with no sheets, debris and piles of food on the floor. An investigation found that the money she was collecting was not used for his care. To read more about the elderly abuse, click here.
