Wisconsin nursing home resident dies in light rail accident

A longtime resident of the Good Samaritan Society-University Specialty Center in southeast Minneapolis died when she was run over by a train heading to downtown Minneapolis. The resident, who was prone to slips and falls, left the nursing home in the early afternoon and lost her footing on the light rail platform. Although the home’s executive director was not aware of any restriction that would have barred the resident from leaving the home during the day, the brother of the 79 year old accident victim stated that she suffered from tremors and had difficulty in keeping her body from shaking.
