State Implements Adult Abuse Registry

The State of Delaware has passed a bill which allows the Department of Health and Social Services to provide online access to the names of individuals who are actively listed on the Adult Abuse Registry as a result of elderly abuse, elderly neglect or financial exploitation. The state’s residents seeking to hire someone to help care for their elderly loved one and employers can now easily go online and check the job applicant’s name against the Adult Abuse Registry. This important tool is greatly needed in Illinois and the Illinois Legislature should seek to pass such a bill. To read more about the adult abuse registry, please click here.
