Nursing Home Faces $13 Million Lawsuit

A family has filed a wrongful death suit against a nursing home claiming $10 million in punitive damages and $3 million in compensatory damages. Three daughters of a nursing home patient have filed the suit alleging instances of elderly negligence that they believed contributed to the woman’s death. They came that their 84-year-old mother did not get proper nutritional care and was severely malnourished and dehydrated when she died. The elderly abuse lawsuit also alleges that two unskilled student employees dropped their mother which resulted in a broken femur that went untreated. The suit alleges that the nursing home’s failure to properly monitor and prescribe medication which causes the elderly woman to have severe internal bleeding. To read the full story, click here.
