Nursing Home Abuse Found After Employee Revealed Information to Family of Victim

A resident of a nursing home died suddenly, at the end of last year. The wife of the victim did not suspect any foul play, until she received a call from the mother of an employee of the nursing home informing her that her husband had died after repeated physical abuse. The caller said that her daughter was an employee and could no longer keep quiet about the abuse that she knew occurred at the nursing home. After exhuming the body, it was found that the victim did suffer from repeated physical abuse. Four of the nursing home employees were arrested and the nursing home has spent $500,000 to retrain the staff about elder abuse. There is no word as to whether the wife of the victim will be filing a wrongful death lawsuit against the nursing home. For the full story click here.
