Former nursing home aide charged with nursing home neglect for scaldings of two residents

A former Oklahoma nursing home aide was charged last week with two counts of nursing home abuse and neglect for two incidents where residents were scalded. When the former aide placed the first resident in the shower, he suffered a seizure, fell, and hit his head. When she called a nurse to the room, the nurse found burns and peeling skins throughout the resident’s body. The mentally-disabled resident was hospitalized with burns over 20% of his body. The next day, a second patient developed large blisters on his hand and arm and was hospitalized with burns over 6% of his body.
