Former Care Home Workers Accused of Neglect

Two certified nursing assistants at an assisted living center received summonses after an elderly woman fell out of a chair and spent hours sleeping on the floor covered in her own urine and vomit. The two nurses each face a misdemeanor charge of negligence for the alleged incident that occurred at the nursing home. The elderly woman was taken to the hospital after she was discovered on the floor. The two nursing assistants were fired immediately. The elderly woman had been put to bed, but she was last seen at midnight sitting in a chair, which was something typical for the woman. Staff members are supposed to check on clients ever two hours during the shift, but the elderly woman was found on the floor during the shift change the next morning. This is an example of how nursing home negligence happens all too often. To read the full story, click here.
