Family Sues Nursing Home for Negligence

The family of a woman that passed away while a patient at a nursing home has filed a lawsuit against the nursing home for negligence. The patient removed her own catheter line, fell on the bathroom floor and remained there without the hospital staff finding her until after she had bled to death. The patient had been prone to pick at her port that was in place for dialysis and the family feels that the nursing home neglected her by not keeping a better eye on her, especially because they knew of her medical conditions and that she was prone to interfering with her treatment. The family feels that the nursing home neglected to fulfill the patient’s needs and that their negligence ended up leading to her wrongful death. The nursing home administrator would not comment on the case, claiming she did not know anything about it. For the full story click here.
