Levin & Perconti filed a complaint in the Circuit Court of Cook County against WRHC & RC, INC., licensee of Woodstock Residence, and two employees on behalf of the daughter of a woman who died in 2006 at the age of 78. The complaint alleges that the employees administered lethal doses of morphine to the woman beyond her physicians’ orders, thereby causing her premature death. The complaint goes on to allege that several staff members of the nursing home were aware of the actions and failed to report them. Both employees were arrested on charges of overdosing the woman and other residents with lethal doses of morphine. The “Angel of Death” case further highlights the negligence found in nursing homes all over Cook County.
