Patient Death Raises Questions as to Nursing Home Negligence

The deaths of two patients at a nursing home has trigged a state attorney general’s investigation and the forced sale or shutting of the facility. It is not known when the deaths at the nursing home occurred or the details surrounding those specific patients. Investigators state that two people at the nursing home died after workers there neglected to administer oxygen to them. The nursing home is owned and operated by Metron Integrated Health Systems who had a previous death three years ago. The accusations in the investigation state that the nursing home was cited for: failure to provide oxygen, resulting in two deaths; not preventing patient-on-patient physical and sexual abuse; declining to investigate a patient who wandered away from the facility; and neglecting to furnish pain medication as prescribed by doctors.
