Inadequate staffing leads to severe incident of California nursing home neglect
Staffing was so inadequate at a California nursing home that a rat was able to crawl into an Alzheimer’s patient’s mouth and die there before any member of staff even noticed. A lawsuit regarding this egregious case of nursing home abuse and neglect was filed last week on behalf of the 90 year-old resident alleging that administrators overbooked their facility to receive corporate bonuses and cut back on staff to increase profits.
