Illinois Manorcare nursing home negligent in death

A negligent Illinois nursing home is to blame in the death of a resident. At the Manor Care at Oak Lawn facility resident with a history of wandering left the facility unnoticed and was missing for 2 ½ hours. He died of bronchial pneumonia and hypothermia. The wind chill during the time the resident was missing was 12 degrees below zero. When a nurse realized the resident was missing she waited 40 minutes before notifying a supervisor or another staff member. It was an hour and 40 minutes before the police were called. A police officer found the resident laying face down on the street.
